Mr. Pasquarelli - thanks for taking the time to post your opinion. I assure you I am not a jackass (but don't ask my wife) This is my point of view (this is called 30POV.com after all) on the 7 Deadly Sins.

If you believe in Atheism that's fine. If your belief is right and mine is wrong, I'll still be okay. If mine is right and yours is wrong - well, for your sake, I hope you're right.

Try to lighten up.

Certainly, there are more effective and less effective ways to share your faith with others. :0)

As far as being shameless goes, you're right--we're all shamelessly plugging ourselves on this site, by virtue of it containing each of our points of view.

Indeed, Jesus was radical, diametrically opposed to all of the social norms of his day--and many social norms of this day. After all, how many of us would consider hanging out with prostitutes and lepers? Selling everything we own to serve those who are in need? I'll be the first to admit that I would struggle with that, even though I know it's what I'm called to do.

In Jesus' day, women weren't even allowed to go inside the inner rooms of the temple. Their husbands went, learned God's Word, and then taught it to their wives and children at home. Yet there was Jesus, not only teaching women regularly, but allowing them to play major roles in his ministry. And Christ chose Mary Magdelene to be the first witness of his resurrection, although the testimony of a woman wasn't considered valid unless it was corroborated by a man.

I could go on, but I've said quite enough, and this isn't my post (sorry, James!).

I think it's hard for us, as finite human beings, to understand the eternal nature of God.

Blessings,
A

The last I knew, the reason asked all of us were asked to be involved in this blog is so we can express our diverse points of view, whether we agree with those points of view or not. Just because you disagree with someone's point of view doesn't necessarily make them a "jackass." If you are so against what this post is about, why don't you provide a response that effectively and intelligently refutes this post?

Damn (pun intended) there is nothing worse than some jackass using a blog to proselytize. I guess when I get to my post I will try to convince people in the utility and obvious sensibility of Atheism. God is an imaginary friend for adults and there is no such thing as sin.

Lee lee - God's always the same - no 2.0 coming out anytime soon. Bible says to share the Gospel so the survey's not a sin! Lastly, they're only plugs if I'm getting paid - so I'm not plugging 30POV.com either :) LOL.

I have an issue with "Seven Deadly Sins" since I believe they no longer matter. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! Cheers.

wow, using a crappy survey to make people read Bible verses is on my new list of "sins" now. however, i did find your post insightful, outside of the shameless plugs. (well, we're all guilty of that, i guess.) i'm just not sure i can get on board with the "jesus was so radical, so that makes him accessible to contemporary people" train. the Bible (in my head) and the God from the Bible (in my head) are very closely linked to Old-Fashioned, whether the old or new T. maybe God needs a "re-release"???
