What is 30POV?
We’re a collaborative blog interested in starting and maintaining dialogues about interesting, weird, controversial, or hilarious topics. Or, all of the above. The most important thing to know is that the writers here are writing to be heard and responded to…not just to look pretty. In this way, I think 30POV inhabits the spirit of what {we}blogging is all about, even if the format is new. We hope that you agree–or disagree–and that you will comment either way.
Who’s behind 30POV?
It is alleged that someone named Ehlee Hompsontee started 30POV in order to kick start her Facebook career, but that’s simply not true. In actuality, 4 very important people keep this blog going, along with the assistance, of course, of the 30+ writers who market their asses off day in and day out.
- lee lee: mastermind, {quasi} editor, cheerleader, thinker, and wearer of other necessary hats. the only thing she doesn’t do is clean toilets.
- K-Frayz: marketing madam and resident muse. she will forever be 29 in our hearts & minds.
- McKnight: other than being our favorite writer of all time, mcknight puts into html-action whatever the two ladies in his life cook up. in this case, that means he designs, tests, redesigns, retests, and…well, you get the picture. He {protests that he actually didn’t} Learn a New Language, People. {but} give him props {anyway}.
- Jeff Kobel, of Jeff Kobel Photography fame. responsible for the cover image each month, jeff is quickly becoming the visual representation of all things lee lee. additionally, his images are the embodiment of the monthly theme and, thus, the inspiration for each month’s design scheme.
Why 30 Points of View, anyway…?
My only defense is that I believe in my ideas. I had a thought to start a blog that featured a different person every day for a month, and 30POV is what came out of it (thanks to the help of the good peeps listed above). After seeing just a half-month of success, recruiting 30 different people to share their viewpoints with the world seemed–more than ever–a damn good way to spend the extra 30 seconds I have in each of my days. We write not for fame or money (though we’ll take either one if they come and knock on the door), but out of a sense of duty to speak for our generation. Or maybe just to add our voices to the cacophony…
